Nossa Senhora de Monserrate Chapel, Óbidos, have some tiles that envelop the triumphal arch and coat . The presbytery have polychrome patterns.
The altarpiece is a work by Belchior de Matos (c. 1600) of São João in Patmos and other saints of the Franciscan order.
You will find the Nossa Senhora de Monsserates’ hermitage in the suburbs, near the village walls.
It has a baroque portal with weapons from the Franciscan order.
The interior is composed by only one nature and the presbytery has a cope.
We point out the tiles (first half of the seventeenth century) that surround the sides and top of the hermitage.
The triumphal arch and presbytery gives us a well known polychrome pattern.
